Another First

As it really been a week since I last posted?

I have been so disconnected to the internet this week, I hardly even checked my email.

But it's good, I've gone for walks, and read more books with my kids, I let my son help wash the dishes, even thoigh all moms know that help from a preschooler is really just more work/time in doing the task. But the reward in watching him feel wanted, and feel needed is reward enough for time spent.
I went to bed early, lying next to my son, telling him stories, and listening to his breathing slow into a peacful sleep.
I comforted my daughter at night, like almost a year ago when we spent hours nursing into the wee hours of the morning, this time due to teething and discomfort of an almost one year old FINALLY getting her first tooth.

I can't believe how much has happened in just a year.
My daughter is almost a year old.

This week we did conquer a first,. a notch in Austins belt, and another page in his baby book

His First trip to the Dentist's Office

HE did very well. His personality shining through, nervous and anxious, shy and quiet.
that is, until he loosens up and his vocal cords run free
I love my little man

Pirate parties

We spent the weekend celebrating, blowing out candles over and over, opening cards in the mailbox from grandpa and other out of state relatives A child blowing out candles is one of my FAVORITE things. You capture in the shutter of your camera one magical moment, when a child makes a wish, and blows out those candles..

He loves opening mail addressed to him, so getting a handful of cards, simply made his day. When he opened his card to find money? He was off the walls excited. He responded and I quote " NOW I'M RICH LIKE DADDY!!!!"
Aren't kids so adorable in their innocence, they really say the darndest thing.

Austin had a party, in which his friends came, and played, danced and had a blast.

There is not much more fun than watching kids playing together, having the time of their lives..

It goes on my beltknotch of kick-ass-mothering, because in 10 more years who knows if I will still be the coolest person to my son, by then he'll be 15.. oh jeez.
That's okay too,

But this stage? This being my sons best friend, confindant, teacher and mom who gets kisses freely, gets to kiss boo-boos and reads in blanket forts? This is FUN! This is amazing, and I want it to last as long as it can..

And who can forget little sister? Who also had a blast at the party roaming from grandparent to grandparent getting her some loving and attention..

notice the sign behind her? " poop deck" how appropriate

Friday Quickie*

I have to make this quick, mostly because we didnt do a whole lot of "blog worthy" things this week, on account I was not feeling great ( Ill explain in a few days)

We stayed in pjs, ate soup, watched scooby doo, ate more soup, slept at weird hours, and I guess it paid off, because me and the weather were feeling much better, and we spent our day playing in the yard.

I have to say - I.LOVE.MY.SON.

pushing his car up the hill

Riding it down..

LOVE his smile!

This is litterally the greatest time in my life, having loved my childhood - I get to make it my goal Austin grows up knowing he can be himself, trusting and being secure with his life. Knowing he is loved, and having happy memories. Also, knowing that it's okay to make mistakes, they are going to happen, but learning to do the right things with them, and after that..

But right now, I have a toddler, and my happiness comes souly from his happiness, of learning a new trade, seeing someone he loves, and just being himself.

Today we ordered Austin's halloween costume, and are really looking forward to "scaring" you all with it!

Have a great weekend! y'all! after all - it is fall

Easter Sunday

Easter was way late this year, but no one noticed on this great day! The weather was perfect, we were all in good moods, and jeez we had a lot of fun too.

The day started out early.
Austin woke up to a beautiful site...

some real..

some jelly bean filled

He had such a good time hunting for his eggs, and eating his jelly beans..

He would open an egg, eat a bean.. this lasted about 15 minutes..

At  breakfast Austin opened his basket. His face is was what I live for - the joy!!

a few jelly beans later, we headed out to church, where we tried to get Bubba to play in nursery, but to no avail.
But he will hopefully warm up
* fingers crossed
soon.

Then we headed to meme's house, where to our surprise Nany, Joaquin and Cole were all visiting for our egg hunt, and ham lunch. ( and when I say ham, I mean our own rendition of a bolided ham, in the form of subs -- yummy)

The boys had not seen each other in quite a while, and really enjoyed playing together.

We had an egg hunt, and they all did really well, except for the part of wanting each others eggs..
But hey, what kids dont want more?? right?

Joaquin and his eggs

so serious

Showing off their loot..

Then it was time for lunch.. Where we all had subs.

making a business call during dinner
Then it was time for some baskets..

The biggest hit of the party, was by far the big bubble makers.

The boys LOVED them.

Cole

The boys played some more.

and we attempted to get a family photo..

he was trying to schooch his way out..

After we came home, we litteraly spent the entire afternoon outside, raking and playing, talking with some neighbors we know.. and LOVE!!

Our yard is coming along really nicely, and am so looking forward to our backyard summer.

We even ate a picnic ham 'suppah' tonight.

The way life should be..

On this Easter I am blessed, I am happy, and I am hopeful for the future - in all areas, especailly job-wise, I got a feeling that something is maybe coming my way.

*fingers crossed!

I hope your Easter was as full of love as mine was.

To many more holidays with the ones I love!!
